October saw the woods change colour from summer green to autumn red, yellow and gold. The final session of the allotment playgroup was mid month. It felt too early to end this year as the weather was still so beautiful!
September sure was an exciting month for Muddy Boots! We held 3 Forest School sessions, 6 allotment playgroup sessions and are busy planning to expand to include woodland parties! Click ‘Forest birthday parties’ in the bar above for the details.
Our focus this week at the Allotment playgroup was messy-play. Lots of activities were laid out and the children could choose to take part in what they wanted. It was lovely to have some bigger siblings along to this session
At The allotment playgroup this week we harvested, washed, weighed, chopped, jammed and ate strawberries!
This week we had a magical time in the woods and at the allotment pretending to be fairies, kings and queens. We played with clay, made flower crowns, crafted our own willow wands and made teeny tiny woodland fairies.
This week at the allotment we planted tomato, sunflowers, pumpkins and mini sweet-corns. We painted, paddled in the mud-pit, played in the sandpit and explored.
This week at Forest School and Allotment playgroup we went on bug hunts, made Hapa Zoma prints of bugs and butterflies and got creative with clay and paint. So much fun! !
At the allotment this week our theme was Sunflowers. We planted seeds, made natural collages, made sunflower handprints and measured our heights on a giant sunflower.
This week at the Allotment playgroup we learnt about the water cycle and what happens when it is rainy and sunny at the same time….. rainbows! We collected rainbow colours from around the allotment, had a snail hunt and planted
