My Muddy Boots

Wild learning and creative play

Allotment Playgroup

“We absolutely love the allotment playgroup. We look forward to it all week and I can genuinely see D learn and grow there. We have been inspired to start growing our own veggies at home too!”

If you enjoy being outdoors with your child, noticing the changing seasons, seeing how our food grows and learning what to eat to keep your body healthy, then this is the group for you!

Here at My Muddy Boots, we pride ourselves in being a really fun and valuable experience for children and their grown-ups. Great group bonds and firm friendships are made alongside all the playing and learning outdoors! There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at every session.

A sunny corner of the Community allotment has been specially designed for this group using Permaculture Principles. There is a willow den, sand-pit, mud kitchen, digging area and child-sized tools provided.

Your child will have the opportunity to plant a sunflower seed and watch it grow, harvest apples, search for runner beans and spot butterflies, snails, spiders and frogs!

Each session is themed and includes a story, gardening activity, natural crafts, time for free-play and songs. Group members bring along healthy snacks and we have a shared picnic and drink under the gazeebo.

Muddy Boots Allotment Playgroup was set up in 2011 and is now entering its 9th year. It started with just a few mums and tots who wanted to spend time together outdoors and learn basic gardening skills. It has developed into a thriving community that offers a really unique playgroup experience.
