My Muddy Boots

Wild learning and natural play

Tribe of Doris Festival

I was at the Tribe of Doris Festival at Stamford Hall in Leicestershire from 7th- 10th August 2019. This amazing participatory arts festival takes diverse art forms from all over the world and gives people the chance to try them out over a five day workshop.

We explored the woods, learnt natural crafts, hung out in the hammocks, toasted marshmallows and went on a bug hunt. High winds and rain meant our second session was relocated indoors but we still had loads of fun getting crafts with natural materials and reading wild stories.

As you enter the woods, you enter another world! Under the canopy of trees lies a special place where the wonders of nature awaits.

At the family forest school sessions you will have the chance to follow your interests and spend some quality time together as a family. Through stories, songs and creative activities, we will explore the woods, learn about bugs, try creative arts and light a campfire for marshmallows and hot chocolate.
